Last weekend, I received an incredible opportunity to work with a retail store that is actually a non-profit.

Rahab’s Rope is a thirteen year old company that has connections in India- Goa, Bangelore & Mumbai are a couple places. Vickie & David are the owners and have been fighting sex trafficking by teaching at risk & rescued women how to make jewelry and sewing through care centers they have set up in India.

The products made by the women in India are sent to America and sold at Rahab’s Rope.

One of my favorite pieces that are made is the “Good Money” bracelets. The bracelets are made by women that work in the Red Light district. “Good Money” in India means dignity. The women were paid for the bracelets they made and expressed that this money was the first good money they had ever received.

Bangels are worn by women and young girls of every age in India. Many wear the bracelets until they break and fall off. In the store, broken bangels are used to make beautiful treasures. The bracelets symbolize how these women have been broken from their enslavement in sex trafficking yet through the facilities that have been set up God reveals His character (loving, gentle, forgiving) and begins to transform the broken hearts into radiant children of God.

Another product in the store is scarves that are made by a family in India. They are rich in color and remind me so much of my time in India. Vickie & David have met and spent time with this Indian father and son that have made these silk scarfs for generations. David & Vickie do not look at these people as a money maker, but an opportunity to share God’s love.

The store is there to share the gospel and build awareness of sex trafficking in India by allowing American people to be a part of the process. 65 percent of Rahab’s Rope funding comes through sales.

I am so excited for the opportunity to work at Rahab’s Rope and speak about the beautiful people of India that God has not forgotten. Please be in prayer for Vickie & David as they continue to provide these homes and opportunities for the women. Pray for the women that their hearts would be restored and they would have encounters with Jesus in mighty ways.

If you would like to learn more about this ministry, you can visit www.rahabsrope.com! I am so excited for my time working there and will have to try not to buy the entire store. Please take a look at the website to see all of the beautiful products made by the women.

Blessings,

Rebekah
